Job summary

Trainees receive on-the-job training with supervision as they gain proficiency. Education requires high school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Ability to learn dispatch codes, procedures, and equipment.
• Capable of effective oral and written communication under stress.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and determine priority.
• Dispatch appropriate units and operate radio/telephone equipment.
• Maintain accurate communications and comply with procedures.
