This newly-created position offers the right individual an opportunity to directly develop and impact services in a brand new, state-of-the art facility. We are seeking a self-starter who can manage people and processes to produce positive outcomes.
This position manages the Dispatch Operations Training Program and assists in planning, development, facilitation, and delivery of 911 Telecommunications training under the direction of the Emergency Services Director. Assessing, planning, developing, delivering and maintaining all facets of a comprehensive program to meet identified needs and to coach, train and support individuals to maximize performance are key components of the position.
Comprehensive knowledge of 911 functions and ability to maintain skills and knowledge necessary to perform duties in the Telecommunications Center, PSAP technology usage including CAD, radio, telephony, and logging recorders, and public safety terminology; exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in formal and informal settings, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a secure environment, to create and make formal presentations, to develop, coordinate and conduct a comprehensive training program and in-service training sessions, to constructively establish and deliver performance improvement guidance, to effectively organize work to establish priorities and manage outcomes aligned with departmental goals and to analyze and improve processes with an attention to detail.
Relative Associate degree and four to six years of progressive experience in a PSAP environment with two years supervisory experience in a comparably sized 911 agency. CPR, EMD, DCI, ETC, ENP; NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800; Emergency Vehicle Driver, WEB EOC, Valid NC driver's license certifications required upon hire.
