Job description

We trust that as a Mortgage Trainer you will:

  1. Develop and maintain a regular effective training schedule.
  2. Provide training support for Processing and/or Origination departments when assigned.
  3. Review and monitor training in processing and origination for Conventional, FHA, VA & USDA loan program guidelines.
  4. Monitor training related to origination compliance disclosures (including updates).
  5. Identify and coordinate training in areas such as analyzing credit reports, bank statements, tax returns, and calculating income.
  6. Review work and files for compliance and quality assurance.
  7. Provide developmental feedback to managers to foster accelerated learning.

Partner with department SMEs to obtain training content.

You are willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Support and collaborate with the Mortgage Disclosure Desk and Closing Fulfillment teams.

Required experience: Proficiency in mortgage loan disclosures and closings.

Train team members to audit, verify, and ensure accuracy and compliance of mortgage and closing disclosures within regulation timelines.

Review, prepare, and send disclosures throughout the loan process.

About you:

  • Proficient processing and/or origination experience.
  • Understanding of FHA, VA, and Conventional underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze credit reports, assets, and calculate income including tax returns.
  • Ability to assist with restructuring loans.
  • Knowledge of required disclosures.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, and professional conduct.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and confidentiality.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3-4+ years of mortgage lending experience.
  • Training and facilitation experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Ellie Mae Encompass LOS (preferred).

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

  • This position is non-exempt, requiring time tracking and eligibility for overtime.

Essential functions include:

  • Reporting to the division or corporate office daily and adhering to schedule.
  • Accessing, inputting, and retrieving information from electronic systems.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods and moving as needed.
  • Operating a motor vehicle if applicable.
  • Following company policies and procedures.

Physical demands:

  • Remaining stationary up to 50% of the time.
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience with Taylor Morrison or successful completion of training may override formal education or experience requirements.
