Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year in dispatch or related work, and the ability to pass a skills test. You must obtain a TCOLE Telecommunicator License within one year and be available for nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in emergency dispatch or related fields.
• Must pass a skills test demonstrating computer proficiency, data entry accuracy, decision-making, and stress management.
• Must obtain a TCOLE Telecommunicator License within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls; provide pre-arrival instructions.
• Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel; track unit locations and maintain communication with responders.
• Access confidential law enforcement databases (TCIC/NCIC/TLETS/NLETS) to process inquiries and enter data.
• Coordinate mutual aid and maintain contact with internal and external agencies during emergencies.
• Operate CAD, multiline phone systems, and emergency radio channels.
