Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a dedicated volleyball coach for the DCSD 7-12 grade girls program. The role includes supervising all phases of the volleyball program, from planning and strategy to coaching fundamentals and game-day execution.

The successful candidate will maintain equipment, coordinate with high school staff, and ensure compliance with district academic standards and eligibility policies while promoting good sportsmanship and student growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Good attendance and punctuality are expected.
• Ability to work with diverse student-athletes and staff as part of MTSS.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of all phases of the volleyball program including planning, strategy, and instruction.
• Care for and issue volleyball equipment for the team.
• Communicate with high school coaching staff and attend meetings or clinics to ensure program continuity.
• Enforce district academic standards, policies, and eligibility requirements.
• Develop players from fundamentals to advanced skills.
