Job summary

Carter’s Inc. is seeking to fill a General Warehouse Associate role at our distribution center. You will perform picking, packing, material handling, induction, and related tasks to support our fast-paced operation.

Candidates should be comfortable with RF scanners, voice-picking tech, and warehouse management systems; basic computer skills are required. High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Flexibility for overtime and peak-season work is expected.

Responsibilities

• General Distribution Center work including picking, packing, and material handling.
• Maintain performance standards while performing required job functions.
• Adhere to high quality and accuracy in all tasks.
• Flexibility to work in any General Warehouse function across the building.
• Operate RF equipment, voice-picking technology, pick-to-light and other warehouse systems.
• Use basic computer functions as needed.
• May require lift equipment certification where required.
• Follow Carter’s Safety rules and procedures.

Essential Job functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important for the Job)

• General Distribution Center work (picking, packing, material handling, induction, etc.)
• Must be able to maintain minimum performance standards while performing required job functions.
• Must have the ability to perform the job with the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
• Must have the flexibility, if instructed, to work in any General Warehouse function (anywhere in the building, any channel, at any time during the shift).
• The ability to use Radio Frequency (RF) equipment, voice picking technology, pick to light and other warehouse management systems.
• The ability to use basic computer functions as needed.
• The ability to be certified on lift equipment should this be required.
• Must have the ability to work safely and abide by all of Carter’s Safety rules and procedures.

Secondary functions (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)

• Other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements-minimum Compentencies Required For Job

• Basic working knowledge of computers, RF Scanners and Warehouse Management systems.
• Proven team member with skills to multi-task.
• Proficient reading skills.
• Must have the ability to abide by all of Carter’s policies and procedures, specifically the attendance policy.

Prior Work Experience And Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or a GED preferred, not required.

Six Months Automated Distribution Center Experience Preferred.

PHYSICAL and Work DEMANDS

• Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to fifty pounds.
• Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.
• Must be able to work consecutive days during peak season.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
• Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.
• Comply with blackout periods as determined by Management.
