Job summary
The UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center offers a Nursing Extern opportunity for students graduating December 2027 through May 2028. You will work under the supervision of a UVA Community Health RN in inpatient or outpatient settings, gaining hands-on patient care experience during an 8-week program.
Schedule includes 36-40 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts with weekends on rotation, and orientation before start.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled nursing students who graduate December 2027–May 2028.
- BSN or ASN students who have completed their 3rd year.
- Nurse extern pathway available until graduation.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care as needed for recovery.
- Provide a safe environment and delivery of care.
- Perform basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN.
