Job summary

Phoenix Tailings seeks a Senior Office of the CEO Associate to serve as an execution partner to the CEO on company-defining priorities. You will independently shape and lead work that crosses functional boundaries, often where the question is still unclear and the path forward must be built.

The ideal candidate combines strategic judgment with operating discipline, earning trust across the company to drive initiatives from question to decision and execution.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or operating roles at scaling companies.
• Strong strategic and financial judgment with the ability to form clear recommendations from incomplete information.
• Experience leading complex projects across functions without formal authority.
• Excellent executive communication and the ability to adapt detail for different audiences.
• High discretion, low ego, and a track record of earning trust with senior leaders.
• Ability to move between analysis and hands-on execution as the work requires.
• Experience in industrial technology, advanced manufacturing, critical materials, or climate-related industries is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Own major CEO-sponsored initiatives from definition through execution.
• Develop recommendations on capital allocation, expansion, partnerships, new markets, and company priorities.
• Lead cross-functional teams through influence, clear decision making, and consistent follow-through.
• Represent the CEO's office in selected internal and external workstreams.
• Prepare and pressure-test materials for board meetings, investors, partners, customers, and executive decisions.
• Identify emerging issues and opportunities, define the required work, and move them toward resolution.
• Create operating plans, milestones, and accountability for initiatives that sit outside a single function.
• Coach junior team members and raise the quality of analysis and communication across shared projects.

• A typical candidate will have 4 to 7 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or an operating role at a scaling company. We will consider candidates whose scope and resultsdemonstrate the required level of ownership.

This base salary range reflects our best estimate for this role. The final package may vary based on experience andqualifications and includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus and equity.

Base Salary Range: $140,000 to $175,000
