Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is hiring for an Entry Level Custodian with a starting rate of $18.17/hr. Responsibilities include vacuuming all surfaces, cleaning, minor grounds keeping, and maintenance reporting. The ideal candidate must have a High School diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 56 lb, and follow instructions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Vacuum all areas, both hard and soft surfaces.
• Wipe down surfaces and remove trash.
• Reposition furniture correctly and assist with deep cleaning.
• Perform minor grounds keeping and mowing.
• Report maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian.

New Hire: Entry Level Rate $18.17/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Vacuums all areas- hard & soft surfaces
• Wipes down surfaces
• Takes out trash
• Repositions furniture correctly
• Vacuum upholstered furniture
• Assist with deep cleaning during break periods - stripping, scrub & recoat, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture.
• Removes snow.
• Minor grounds keeping
• Lawn mowing
• Assist with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintain equipment
• Report maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements of Position

Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.

Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial task ie; cleaning light fixture.

Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground.

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
