Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking a 7/8 Science Teacher for the Hazelwood campus to deliver standards-based instruction and collaborate with school leaders. You will plan, teach, and assess her/his curriculum aligned to the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards and engage scholars with inquiry-based learning.

Qualifications

• Valid PA certification in the appropriate content area.
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Ability to develop rigorous lesson plans and assessments.
• Deep content area knowledge and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design coherent instruction aligned with state standards and best practices.
• Develop and update learning resources and participate in professional development.
• Create a respectful instructional environment that promotes learning.
• Use varied instructional strategies to engage students.
• Manage classroom procedures to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Assess student learning and use data to drive instruction.
• Implement student IEPs and participate in special education processes.
• Maintain accurate records and report progress per school policy.
• Prepare and meet annual performance expectations set by administration.
• Communicate with families regularly and respond promptly.
