Job summary

First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School is seeking a 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher to deliver engaging science instruction aligned to state standards and the district’s curriculum. You will work with grade-level teams to plan, assess, and communicate student progress, coordinate with ESL and special education staff, and engage families in student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• PA Certification is required.
• Experience with curriculum planning and state standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make a scope and sequence that aligns with the PSSA Assessment Anchors.
• Create weekly lesson plans aligned to state standards and current curriculum.
• Grade and provide timely feedback to students.
• Communicate with team about school-wide and grade expectations.
• Communicate with families about their child's progress.
• Coordinate with ESL teacher.
• Coordinate with special education teacher.
• Building and maintaining positive relations with students.
• Attend after school hour events as needed.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the students.
