Job summary

South Bend Community School Corp is seeking a Dual Language Immersion Spanish Teacher for 6th grade at Navarre Middle School. The role focuses on delivering Spanish-language instruction across core subjects and implementing evidence-based strategies within a DLI framework.

The teacher will design targeted interventions, value family partnerships, and work with bilingual services staff to support multilingual learners. Immediate start date is available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Indiana License/Certification in Spanish, Social Studies, or Science.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ESL/EL/ENL certified or licensed preferred.
• Must be fluent in Spanish in all domains: Listening, Speaking, Writing, and Reading.

Responsibilities

• Provide 6th Grade language acquisition and core academic instruction in Spanish in accordance with Indiana Academic Standards.
• Design intensive, small-group interventions for reading, Spanish Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.
• Implement high-gains, evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and performance skills across instruction.
• Collaborate with Bilingual Education Specialist and Title I/II/III staff to support DLI students.
