Job summary

Sensaria is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize automated production and fulfillment equipment in a high-volume environment. The role emphasizes uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement across printing, finishing, framing, and packaging operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, automated production, distribution, or fulfillment environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with PLC-controlled systems (Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Siemens or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, mechanical systems, servo-driven equipment and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, meters and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience using CMMS or other maintenance tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production equipment and automation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain conveyors, CNC equipment, large-format printers, barcode scanners, sensors and HMIs.
  • Lead equipment rebuilds, upgrades, installations and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, throughput, quality and OEE.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and maintenance improvements.

I. ROLE PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician III serves as an advanced technical resource responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing automated production and fulfillment equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maximizing equipment uptime, improving system reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across print, finishing, framing, packaging, and automated material handling operations.

The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with PLC-controlled systems, and the ability to lead complex repairs while mentoring junior technicians and supporting operational excellence initiatives.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment, automation systems, and facility machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and production uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automated systems including conveyors, CNC equipment, large-format printers, barcode scanners, sensors, HMIs, servo systems, and packaging equipment.
  • Lead equipment rebuilds, upgrades, installations, startups, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, throughput, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, equipment upgrades, and maintenance improvements.

III. ADDITIONAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to maintenance and production team members.
  • Promote a safe, accountable, and continuous improvement-focused work environment.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and EH&S standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support production goals.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately within the CMMS.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in alignment with 5S standards
  • Perform routine inspections and proactively identify potential equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and IT teams to support efficient operations.

IV. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Experience in high-volume, deadline-driven production environments.
