Job summary

Mannington Mills, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.

The role emphasizes strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, diagnosing equipment failures quickly, and working independently to minimize downtime. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, support production during shifts, and help with upgrades and safety/compliance tasks in a 40 hr/wk schedule with potential OT on call.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Forklift Certification (subject to monthly random drug screening).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
  • Knowledge of single and three phase electric, AC and DC voltages.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting preferred.
  • NEC and NFPA 70E Qualified Person preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
  • Repair or replace defective components including motors, sensors, drives, belts, bearings and control devices.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical circuits.
  • Respond promptly to production calls to minimize downtime.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, misalignment, and mechanical deficiencies.
  • Lubricate, adjust, and calibrate equipment per manufacturer specs.
  • Document maintenance work and report recurring issues.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting up to 480 volts.
  • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Follow safety policies and OSHA guidelines; perform LOTO procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and participate in upgrades.

Job description

Position Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:00PM (40 hr/wk. - On Call OT required)

Salary Range: $19 - $24 based on relevant experience and qualifications

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to diagnose equipment failures quickly, and the capability to work independently.

The Maintenance Technician supports production by minimizing downtime, performing corrective repairs, and assisting with preventative maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
  • Repair or replace defective components including motors, sensors, drives, belts, bearings, and control devices.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical circuits.
  • Respond promptly to production calls to minimize downtime.
  • Perform emergency repairs during shift as needed.
2. Preventative Maintenance
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, misalignment, and mechanical deficiencies.
  • Lubricate, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document maintenance work performed and report recurring issues.
3. Electrical & Mechanical Support
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting. (up to 480 volts)
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair AC/DC variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, and associated industrial control systems.
  • Replace or repair motors, contactors, relays, switches, and control components.
  • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.
5. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades and installations.
  • Communicate recurring equipment issues to management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and heat.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to equipment issues.
