Summary

The Floating Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The role offers an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care within their scope of practice under physician supervision. The technologist maintains effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Description

Mileage reimbursement is offered based on the New York State Travel Mileage Rates.

  • Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
  • Obtain medical history, vital signs, and patient intake.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established safety and care procedures.
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Maintain daily quality control of radiology equipment.
  • Document repeat exposures and parent holding logs with dosimeter readings.
  • Assist in radiology quality assurance programs.
  • Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Assist in emergencies by promptly notifying medical staff.
  • Collect throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing.
  • Assist in processing laboratory tests and routine QA testing.
  • Apply splints, ace wraps, and DME devices.
  • Provide patient education on crutches and proper device use.
  • Be part of the patient care team.
  • Keep exam and x-ray rooms stocked with supplies.
  • Contribute to team efforts and accomplish related results.
  • Follow policies and procedures; report needed changes.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Take ownership of new challenges and explore value-added opportunities.
  • Assist with patient complaints and service recovery.
  • This position involves scheduled work at a centralized location with travel to 2-3 other sites as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment in emergencies.
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of digital imaging and electronic health records (eCW preferred).
Compensation

$55 - $65/hour

This range complies with local regulations and may vary based on experience and location. Compensation is considered individually.
