Job summary

Airlite Plastics in Omaha, NE is hiring an Inspector Packer to help prepare foam products for shipping. The Airlite - Omaha team is located in Omaha, NE, and the role focuses on packing, labeling, and palletizing.

Responsibilities

  • Receives daily work schedule and duties from leadership.
  • Gathers packaging materials for specific products being produced, to include lids, trays, pallets, labels, polyethylene cover sheets and boxes.
  • Assembles trays for packaging.
  • Loads ICF block machines with the necessary plastic/metal ties and corner brackets and their assembly.
  • Removes stryrofoam product from the shape molding machines and carefully stacks the product on pallets or corrugate trays.
  • Visually inspects product for quality assurance requirements / reports deviations to the shift quality team member, or supervisor.
  • May be required to climb ladder to place ICF block or coolers product on a tray/pallet, to cover top of bundle with either corrugate tray or polyethylene cover sheet.
  • Counts, ties rope and velcro in packages of up to 40 pieces.
  • Reports potential problems to the Machine Operator, manager or supervisor as required.
  • Complies with lockout/tagout procedures while machine is under maintenance.
  • Assembles shipper as scheduled.
  • Assists production & shipping as scheduled in repackaging of product.
  • Responsible for reporting safety problems to management.
  • Meets safety and housekeeping expectations.
  • Maintains attendance company standards.
  • Works weekends and holidays as required.

How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Omaha team, located in Omaha, NE. As an Inspector Packer you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. This role is responsible for Prepares foam product for shipping by performing the following duties.

  • Receives daily work schedule and duties from leadership.
  • Gathers packaging materials for specific products being produced, to include lids, trays, pallets, labels, polyethylene cover sheets and boxes.
  • Assembles trays for packaging.
  • Loads ICF block machines with the necessary plastic/metal ties and corner brackets and their assembly.

  • Assists production & shipping as scheduled in repackaging of product.
  • Responsible for reporting safety problems to management.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties and competencies of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; to stand; walk; use hands; and reach with hands and arms distances in excess of 15 inches. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs or ladders, and balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 21 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds.
