Job summary

Wichita State University’s NIAR Advanced Material and Prototyping Lab in Park City, KS is seeking a CNC Machinist with 5-Axis experience. Responsibilities include setting up and running machines to produce high-precision parts, following complex drawings and prototypes, and conducting quality checks.

On-site work with occasional extended hours is required. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 3 years of CNC machining experience; a combination of related college coursework

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent by hire date.
• Three (3) years of experience as a CNC Machinist; every 30 hours of related college coursework and/or technical training can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various tools and equipment to create, modify, or repair precision parts.
• Monitor machinery and perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues with equipment, new programs, and/or products; detect malfunctions and maintain machinery to ensure functionality.
• Provide training and oversight of new hires and students.
