Job summary

Progressive Staffing LLC is seeking a CNC Machinist for a permanent, full-time in-office role in City Tonawanda, NY. You will operate 5-axis machines, read blueprints, and support program modifications as part of a lean manufacturing team.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of 5-axis machining experience, familiarity with Heidenhain controls or Mastercam, and a strong attention to detail. This is a first-shift, on-site position with standard benefits and a direct-hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and performing basic shop math to ensure machines are set up correctly.
• 2+ years of 5-axis machining experience.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls and/or Mastercam programming is preferred.
• Trade school education or equivalent is preferred; relocation not offered; must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate various 5-axis machines: set up, load, and run in a cellular configuration.
• Read and interpret blueprints and perform basic shop math to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor programs and perform necessary modifications when needed.
• Communicate modifications to programmers responsible for main programming.
• Occasionally work with CNC horizontal and vertical boring mills.
• Maintain a safe environment by following established safety procedures.
• Participate in Lean and Six Sigma teams to support continuous improvement.
• Work well in a team environment or independently.
• Other duties as assigned.
