Progressive Staffing is seeking a CNC Machinist for a permanent, in-office role in Tonawanda, NY. The position reports to the Machine Shop Manager and requires 2+ years in 5-axis machining, and familiarity with Heidenhain controls or Mastercam.

Shifts are 1st: 7:30am-3:30pm; full-time, direct hire. Trade school experience preferred; must be able to read blueprints and perform basic shop math. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years’ experience with 5-axis machining
• Experience with Heidenhain controls and/or Mastercam programming
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and perform basic shop math
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work both in a team and independently

Responsabilités

Job Description

CNC MACHINIST (Permanent) Our client, a manufacturingorganization headquartered in WNY, is looking to add a CNC Machinist to theirgrowing team. This position reportsdirectly to the Machine Shop Manager and is located in the Northtowns.

Responsibilities:

• Operate various5-axis machines: set up, load, and run in a cellular configuration
• Read andinterpret blueprints and complete basic shop math in order to ensure machinesare operating/configured accurately and according to customer specifications
• Monitor programsand perform necessary modifications when needed
• Communicatemodifications to programmers, as main programming will be performed by thoseteam members
• Occasionally workwith CNC horizontal and vertical boring mills
• Maintain a safeenvironment at all times by following and championing established safetyprocedures and policies
• Participate insafety meetings, offering educated suggestions for increased safety in theworkplace and process improvements
• Supportcontinuous improvement initiatives through active participation in Lean and SixSigma teams
• Workwell in a team environment as well as independently
• Otherduties as assigned/as necessary
