Progressive Staffing LLC is assisting a manufacturing client in Western New York with a CNC Machinist opening in the Northtowns area. This full-time, direct-hire position requires 100% on-site work with a 1st shift from 7:30am to 3:30pm.

The role entails operating 5-axis machines, reading blueprints, and performing basic shop math to ensure precise setups. Experience with Heidenhain controls and Mastercam is preferred; relocation is not offered.

Qualifikationen

• Read and interpret blueprints; perform basic shop math.
• Set up and operate 5-axis machines in a cell.
• Monitor programs and modify as needed.
• Communicate modifications to programmers.
• Occasionally work with CNC horizontal and vertical boring mills.
• Follow safety procedures and champion safety in the workplace.
• Participate in Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work well in a team and independently.

Aufgaben

• Operate various 5-axis machines: set up, load, and run in a cellular configuration.
• Read and interpret blueprints and complete basic shop math in order to ensure machines are operating/configured accurately and according to customer specifications.
• Monitor programs and perform necessary modifications when needed.
• Communicate modifications to programmers, as main programming will be performed by those team members.
• Occasionally work with CNC horizontal and vertical boring mills.
• Maintain a safe environment at all times by following and championing established safety procedures and policies.
• Participate in safety meetings, offering educated suggestions for increased safety in the workplace and process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through active participation in Lean and Six Sigma teams.
• Work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• Other duties as assigned/as necessary.
