Job summary

Clark Associates, Inc. is seeking an Outbound Assistant Manager to supervise the shipping department during their shift, focusing on quality, accuracy, and exceptional customer experience.

This role collaborates with the Outbound Manager and leadership across shifts to ensure SOPs are followed and operational directives are met. The position involves directing daily outbound operations, coaching up to a team of employees, monitoring metrics, leading meetings, and driving continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Assists with the management of day-to-day operations within the Outbound department, focusing on quality, efficiency, and accuracy to satisfy our customer base.
• Train, coach, develop, and hold accountable up to X employees to achieve operational metrics.
• Works closely with the Inbound Manager to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for the receiving department; identify and resolve operating issues as needed.
• Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.
• In collaboration with the Outbound Manager, lead weekly and monthly meetings to share information including metrics review, areas of improvement, employee relations issues, and updates on initiatives and related projects.
• Assists in analyzing opportunities for improvement including productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and increased process efficiency.
• Ensure the timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide frequent and constructive feedback to all team members in accordance with the Great Employees Only philosophy.
• Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations are followed.
• Promptly complete all admin duties relating to employee management to the expected standard.
• Collaborate with the leadership team within the building to meet the needs of the DC and foster a team mentality.
• Work with the Outbound Manager and Team Leads to create development plans for employees to maintain engagement and develop a leadership bench.
• Maintain a high level of integrity and honesty, embodying the core values of the company and modeling them for our employees.
• Serve as a leader not only for the assigned department, but for the entire distribution center, holding peers, managers and employees accountable to expectations.

Job Summary

The Outbound Assistant Manager assists the Outbound Manager in overseeing the shipping department of the facility within their respective shift, including picking, packing, and indirect positions, focusing on quality, accuracy, and providing excellent customer experience. The Outbound Assistant Manager works with the Outbound Manager to collaborate with leadership on other shifts/departments to ensure compliance with all protocol and SOP’s, problem solving, and meet operational directives.
