WebstaurantStore is seeking an Outbound Assistant Manager to support the Outbound Manager in overseeing shipping operations, including picking, packing, and QA, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and customer experience.

The role requires collaboration with leadership across shifts and departments to ensure SOPs are followed, metrics are met, and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented.

• Lead weekly and monthly meetings to review metrics and initiatives and share updates.
• Analyze opportunities for productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to create development plans for employees to maintain engagement.
• Model integrity and embody company values and lead by example.

Job Summary

The Outbound Assistant Manager assists the Outbound Manager in overseeing the shipping department of the facility within their respective shift, including picking, packing, and indirect positions, focusing on quality, accuracy, and providing excellent customer experience. The Outbound Assistant Manager works with the Outbound Manager to collaborate with leadership on other shifts/departments to ensure compliance with all protocol and SOP's, problem solving, and meet operational directives.

Operational

• Assists with the management of the day-to-day operations within the Outbound department, including Picking, Consolidation, Packing, QA, and other indirect roles. Ensure that the team is consistently focused on achieving a high degree of quality, efficiency, and accuracy to satisfy our customer base.
• Train, coach, develop, and hold accountable up to X employees to achieve operational metrics and satisfy the needs of the distribution center.
• Works closely with the Outbound Manager to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for the receiving department; identify and resolve operating issues as needed.
• Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.
• In collaboration with the Outbound Manager, lead weekly and monthly meetings to share information including metrics review, areas of improvement, employee relations issues, and provide updates on any initiatives and related projects.
• Assists in analyzing opportunities for improvement including productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and increased process efficiency.

People

• Ensure the timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide frequent and constructive feedback to all team members in accordance with the Great Employees Only philosophy.
• Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations are followed.
• Promptly complete all admin duties relating to employee management to the expected standard.

Leadership

• Collaborate with the leadership team within the building to meet the needs of the DC and foster a team mentality.
• Work with the Outbound Manager and Team Leads to create development plans for employees to maintain engagement and develop a leadership bench.
