Job summary

KING ELEMENTARY in Katy, Texas is seeking a 4th Grade Teacher to join Katy ISD. This full-time position reports to the Principal, with 187 instructional days and immediate starting date.

The successful candidate will develop engaging lessons aligned to district curriculum, differentiate instruction, monitor student progress, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, ESL certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (required)
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for subject and level assigned
• ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self contained special education or general education classroom assignments
• ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies teaching assignments
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Student teaching or approved internship
• Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required
• Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to district curriculum policy
• Prepare lessons with accommodations and differentiation for learning styles
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and district regulations
• Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals and best practices
• Design learning experiences incorporating digital tools to promote learning
• Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
• Plan and use instructional strategies and assessments reflecting individual needs
• Work with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs
• Monitor student achievement and use results to adjust delivery
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned
• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and monitor behavior
• Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers
• Maintain professional relationships and present information clearly
• Demonstrate ethical and professional conduct
• Support campus and district mission and goals
• Engage in professional development and stay compliant with policies
• Lead or participate in leadership opportunities as appropriate
