Job summary

University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Primary Grade, Supervising Teacher at Kilby Laboratory School. The role teaches all subjects to one 4th grade class and includes supervising student interns, coordinating clinical experiences, conducting classroom research, and serving on committees.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in elementary or early childhood education; EdS preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in elementary education or early childhood education is required.
• Education specialist (EdS) is preferred.
• Three or more years of teaching experience in grades K-6 is required.
• Three or more years of teaching experience in grades P-3 is preferred.
• National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification is preferred.
• STEM instructional experience is preferred.
• Trained in the science of reading (LETRS) preferred.
• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in elementary or early childhood education, or the ability to obtain such through reciprocity, is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects to one class in the primary grades, specifically 4th grade.
• Work with elementary students and supervise student interns.
• Accommodate clinical experiences in the classroom and conduct classroom research.
• Serve on committees and participate in other job-related activities.
• Implement innovative practices and support the campus community.
• Participate in school-wide professional development and engage with PTO.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education
