Job summary

The University of North Alabama invites applications for the position of Primary Grade, Supervising Teacher at Kilby Laboratory School. This elementary teaching role covers all subjects for one class, Kindergarten, and includes supervising student interns and coordinating clinical experiences.

The successful candidate should understand Alabama standards (ARIS, AMSTI, CCRS) and commit to innovative practices.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education is required.
Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree is preferred.
Three or more years of teaching experience in grades K-6 is required.
Three years of teaching experience in grades P-6 is preferred.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification is preferred.
STEM instructional experience is preferred.
Current Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in elementary or early childhood education, or reciprocity-enabled, is required.

Responsibilities

Teach all subjects to one class in the primary grades, specifically Kindergarten.
Work with elementary students.
Supervise student interns.
Accommodate clinical experiences in the classroom.
Conduct classroom research.
Serve on committees, as requested.
Participate in other job-related activities.
Implement innovative practices.
Support the campus community.
Participate in school-wide professional development.
Engage with the parent-teacher organization (PTO).
Perform all other duties as assigned.
