Job summary

University of Kentucky’s Extension Program in Booneville seeks an Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development to lead youth programs across the county. The agent will oversee program delivery, volunteer training, and community initiatives, ensuring strong youth development outcomes.

Primary duties include coordinating school and community-based activities, recruiting volunteers, and collaborating with councils and local government to strengthen the county’s 4-H presence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with groups and individuals and through mass media.
• Ability to use the computer for program delivery and management.
• Ability to visit clientele at sites throughout the county.
• Ability to plan and teach educational programs.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to serve as a positive role model.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management to 4-H youth development programs for the county.
• Recruit and train volunteers and leaders to work with youth.
• Develop councils, advisory groups, and committees for leadership development and community involvement.
• Support dissemination of information on Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Community Development as per statutes.
