Job summary

University of Kentucky Extension is seeking an Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development in Oldham County. You will lead and manage a county-wide 4-H program, recruit and train volunteers, and collaborate with advisory groups to develop youth programs across schools and communities.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and program delivery skills, with travel throughout the county. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is preferred, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel within Oldham County as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management to the overall 4-H youth development programs for Oldham County.
• Recruit, train and support volunteers and leaders to work with youth.
• Utilize and develop councils, advisory groups, and committees for program areas like leadership development, community involvement and local government.
• Disseminate useful information on Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Community and Rural Development as per Kentucky statutes.
• Meet/background checks as a condition of employment and involvement in the program.
