Job summary

Kentucky State University in Kentucky is seeking a 4-H Youth Development Extension Area Agent to oversee Fayette County's 4-H programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Family and Consumer Science, Human Nutrition, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in a related area strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with marginalized communities.
• Minimum 1 year of experience creating culturally diverse programming.
• Three to five years of experience in youth program development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive plan of work for Fayette County based on locally identified needs.
• Identify, recruit, train, and manage volunteers to extend 4‑H educational programming.
• Conduct educational programs covering financial well‑being, food safety, leadership, life skills, small farm development, and health.
• Develop and implement evaluation strategies and report data through the Kentucky Extension Reporting System.
• Prepare detailed reports and program summaries; communicate with staff and stakeholders.
• Supervise and conduct performance reviews for support staff/ volunteers.
• Support KSU signature programs such as the Summer Transportation Institute and Ag Discovery.
