San Jacinto Elementary in Liberty, Texas seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. You will assist in implementing classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus an Texas educational aide certificate; an associate degree or two years of college is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Knowledge of general office equipment and basic clerical tasks.
• Some experience working with children is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist teacher with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care as required.
• Help supervise students during lunch, bus and recess.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
