Job summary

The District Council of Madison, Inc., Society of St. Vincent de Paul is seeking a Logistics Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and shipping functions at our Thrift store and processing center.

This hands-on role involves sorting, handling, loading and unloading donated goods, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the operation. You will operate forklifts, move donated items, and contribute to productivity in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, prioritize tasks, and apply critical thinking for decisions.
• Familiarity with basic computer skills and office software.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse population and uphold safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Sort, process, and prepare donated goods for retail, recycling, or disposal.
• Safely load and unload trucks and operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
• Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials per safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory and support recycling and waste reduction.
• Keep warehouse and production areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Collaborate across production areas to meet operational goals.
• Communicate with customers, donors, vendors, and staff professionally.
• Follow safety procedures, complete training, and report hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
