Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul is seeking a Logistics Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and shipping functions, including sorting, loading/unloading, and inventory management for donated items.

This hands-on role contributes to productivity across SVdP facilities and requires safe operation of equipment, adherence to safety procedures, and reliable performance on a rotating 4/10 schedule with occasional overtime.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and production areas.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, donors, vendors, and staff and address issues professionally.
  • Follow safety procedures, participate in required training, and report hazards and maintenance concerns.

Full-time/Non-Exempt | $21.30/hour | 7 am - 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday, 4/10 schedule with a rotating weekday off | Occasional overtime required

Job Summary

The Logistics Forklift Operator is a key operations team member responsible for supporting daily warehouse and shipping functions. This position assists with sorting, handling, and redistributing donated items, maintaining warehouse inventory, loading and unloading trailers, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The role is hands-on and contributes directly to productivity and smooth operations across St. Vincent de Paul facilities.

  • This position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations, the ability to prioritize and execute responsibilities, and the critical thinking skills necessary for sound decision-making. In addition, this position requires familiarity with basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications required.
  • This employee must have the ability to work with a culturally and socially diverse population as represented by the employees, customers, and clients of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Employees must frequently sit, stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands to handle or touch products, tools, or controls.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs. with assistance from equipment or another person.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee must be able to follow instructions and work autonomously on assigned job duties
  • Employees must be able to work assigned shifts consistently and reliably

The Thrift store and Processing Center working environment may contain dust, debris or allergens commonly associated with all manner of pre-owned clothing, furniture and household goods. Certain areas of the facilities are only partially climate controlled.
