Job summary

C&G Machine, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced CNC lathe technician. You will read drawings, set up Mazak lathes, and program the lathe to produce parts with high quality and efficiency.

The role offers a 4 day work week (6 am–4 pm), PTO, and competitive $38–$42 per hour with overtime opportunities. You will perform first article inspections and prepare parts for delivery, contributing to a smooth production flow.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Mazak CNC lathes and bar feeders preferred.
• Strong understanding of CNC lathe tooling, workholding, speeds/feeds, and machining processes through a variety of metals and plastics.
• Ability to take a job from engineering drawing and raw material through setup, first article, and production with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to stand and operate machine for hours at a time.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints on a variety of part types.
• Ability to fill out inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Plan out the most efficient machining process.
• Determine the best workholding and tooling for each job.
• Set up and program Lathe.
• Perform First Article inspection of parts, make necessary changes, then operate the job to completion.
• Create and maintain set up notes, work instructions, and inspection reports.
• Deburr parts if necessary.
• Prepare parts for subsequent operations, or clean and package for delivery.
