JBS is seeking a 3rd Shift Waste Water Technician in Ottumwa to manage daily operational adjustments, monitor equipment, record data, and support lab testing. The role requires obtaining an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months and may involve forklift operation and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities include data entry of environmental data, sludge press operation, and maintaining plant area housekeeping.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: 3rd Shift Waste Water Technician

DEPARTMENT: Waste Water

LOCATION: Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS: Non Exempt

HOURS: Midnight - Noon (Saturday - Monday)

Responsibilities:

• Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments, equipment operations and recording data. Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
• Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
• Recording equipment data.
• Help with lab testing
• Data entry of environmental data
• Operate sludge press
• General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
• Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
• Cover co-worker vacations as needed
• Work some holidays as needed (rotating with co-workers)

Qualification:

• Good communication skills.
• Previous experience helpful, but not required.
• Mechanical skills

• Working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word for data entry
• Self-Motivator
• Able to work unsupervised as required
• Able to work outside year round as needed
