Job summary

JBS is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety role in Ottumwa, Iowa. The position involves working in the wastewater area with daily operational adjustments, data recording, and equipment monitoring. A Grade 1 wastewater operator license must be obtained within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Previous experience helpful, but not required.
• Mechanical skills
• General Math Skills
• Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for data entry
• Self-motivator
• Able to work unsupervised as required
• Able to work outside year round as needed
• Able to climb stairs
• Good attendance record (Less than 3.0 points, for internal candidates)

Responsibilities

• Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments, equipment operations and recording data.
• Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
• Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
• Help with lab testing
• Data entry of environmental data
• Operate sludge press
• General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
• Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
• Cover co-worker vacations as needed
• Work some holidays as needed (rotating with co-workers)
