Job summary

International Paper is seeking a 3rd Shift Utility Operator in Griffin, GA to support production workflows on the 11pm–7am shift. Pay rate is $21.28 per hour and overtime may be mandatory.

You will perform miscellaneous labor duties under the supervision of the shift supervisor and cooperate with machine crews. Benefits include PTO, 401(k) matching, medical/dental, and leadership training.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate use of measuring tools to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler.
  • Ability to learn and follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety rules and practices.
  • Read orders and documents to learn customer requirements.
  • Identify stock and products that match work orders.
  • Perform duties to meet production needs.
  • Assist other associates as needed.
  • Accurately use measuring tools.
  • Inspect, count, stack and unitize products per specs.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming items.
  • Complete time sheets and records.
  • Keep supervisor informed of problems.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and teamwork with crews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

The Job You Will Perform:

Miscellaneous labor associates perform assigned duties to help meet operational requirements.

Miscellaneous labor associates report to the production supervisor for the shift to which they are assigned. Miscellaneous labor associates also follow the direction of the equipment operator when they are assigned to a machine crew.

Primary miscellaneous labor duties / responsibilities include:
  • - following all safety rules and practices;
  • - reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements;
  • - identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders;
  • - performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met;
  • - assisting other associates as needed;
  • - accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment;
  • - inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications;
  • - identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials;
  • - accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;
  • - keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations;
  • - maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;
  • - maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other associates; and
  • - performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
