Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Utility Mechanic on the 3rd Shift in Hunt Valley, MD. The role maintains packaging, blending and fermentation equipment, performs preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, and executes safety improvements per established procedures.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance (food industry preferred), ability to read schematics, and experience with equipment overhaul.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years maintenance in manufacturing (food processing preferred).
• Able to read and interpret computerized data collection and entry.
• Experience overhauling automated equipment (bearings, shafts, drives).
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance.
• Able to read Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical Schematics and blueprints.
• Basic math skills; read manuals and drawings.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving ability.
• Safety-focused in high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Flexible with shift/workday assignments to reduce overtime.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate, maintain and evaluate equipment for proper adjustment.
• Participate in AM/CI/TPM and floor interaction.
• Maintain and improve preventative maintenance sheets and daily checklists.
• Respond to trouble calls and handoffs with maintenance and production.
• Move flexibly with shift/workday requirements and overtime reduction.
