Job Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
  2. Serve as a mentor and coach to all team members.
  3. Implement strategies to improve customer service, increase store sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
  4. Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and company standards.
  5. Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
  6. Handle staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
  7. Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs.
  8. Manage disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding employment status.
  9. Oversee profit and loss, achieve sales targets, and maintain departmental shrinkage.
  10. Model exceptional customer service and promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
  11. Mentor and coach team members to meet sales and service goals.
  12. Ensure team training is complete and effective.
  13. Spend time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
  14. Promote a safe work environment.
  15. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of related retail experience.
  • One year of management experience.
  • Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, customer service, and product flow is helpful.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide precise directions.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial and statistical data and teach suggestive selling.
  • Commitment to practicing safe working habits.
  • Mentoring skills across all organizational levels.
  • Completion of all required certifications.
