Responsibilities

• Counts, weighs, measures and/or compares identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments for verification against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
• Determines the appropriate method of shipment.
• Affixes shipping labels, stamps/stencils/or glues identifying information and shipping instructions on crates and/or containers.
• Posts weights and affixes appropriate postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and correspondence with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Routes items to proper department.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Stage material for production.
• Assist with period-end inventory.
• Moves material from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Maintain 5S standards.
