Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to organize daily shipments, compile production paperwork, and ensure on-time delivery. The role requires 2+ years in shipping/receiving and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Basic math and reasoning skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• 2+ years shipping/receiving.
• Strong verbal and written communication across teams.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment.
• Must be able to lift/move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Cover supervisor responsibilities when needed.
• Update spreadsheets as directed.
• Extend/flex hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preplanned daily shipment organization and billing.
• Compile paperwork from production and checker/loaders.
• Review loading to meet customer expectations.
• Provide direction for checker/loaders to complete daily plans.
• Create updated loads as production orders finish.
• Communicate with Shipping Supervisor or Production Superintendent about critical orders.
• Inform carrier of plan status throughout the shift.
• Coordinate with off-site warehouse personnel as needed.
• Maintain strong communication and organization.
