Job summary

Tilcon Connecticut Inc. is seeking a reliable 3rd shift utility person for our North Branford Quarry. The role reports to the quarry superintendent and requires teamwork, adherence to safety procedures, and flexibility to meet project needs.

You will support maintenance tasks, perform inspections, and operate equipment in a demanding outdoor setting. Ideal candidates will have a minimum high school diploma or GED, plus trade/mechanical education or relevant maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Trade / Mechanical education preferred.
• Maintenance / Mechanical experience preferred.
• Mechanical ability required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate maintenance equipment and report problems to your manager in a timely fashion.
• Perform maintenance and housekeeping on quarry equipment as needed, using ladders to access platforms, and landings.
• Heavy lifting required (up to 75 lbs).
• Shovel sand, stone and wet materials daily.
• Will be working at considerable heights.
• Follow OSHA / MSHA safety procedures and company policies.
• Follow foreperson's direction with daily tasks and project expectations.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with documentation in compliance with policies.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the public.
• Report to work at start time and stay through end of shift.
• Be able to work overtime when required and have a flexible schedule.
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
