Job summary

PPG, in Springdale, PA, seeks a Quality Control Technician (3rd Shift) to work on-site testing raw materials and finished goods, reporting results to production and customers, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. You will test viscosity, pH, density, and ensure procedures and safety standards are followed.

You will collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams, check equipment calibration, and help drive continuous improvement in quality metrics across the line.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of Quality Control experience; chemical or coatings manufacturing environment preferred.
• College chemistry and math desired, but basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles required.

Responsibilities

• Sample testing, i.e. viscosity, pH and density and determining adjustments
• Communicate adjustments and results to other departments
• Reduction of batch samples for spray-outs
• Hand spray panels for defect analysis
• Low-level analytical testing of intermediates
• Check the calibration of equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Follow all procedures and safety protocols
