Job summary

PPG is hiring a Quality Control Technician (2nd Shift) at our Springdale, PA plant. You will test raw material and finished goods properties in the QC Lab, ensuring accurate results are reported to production and customers within needed timeframes.

Responsibilities include viscosity, pH and density testing, communicating findings, calibrating equipment, and maintaining a clean lab space. A HS diploma and 2 years of QC experience are preferred; chemistry and math knowledge are desirable.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of quality control experience; chemical or coatings manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles required.
• High School diploma or GED required; college chemistry and math desired.

Responsibilities

• Sample testing of viscosity, pH and density and determining adjustments.
• Communicate adjustments and results to other departments.
• Reduction of batch samples for spray-outs.
• Hand spray panels for defect analysis.
• Low-level analytical testing of intermediates.
• Check the calibration of equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Follow all procedures and safety protocols.
