Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician (3rd Shift) at our Oak Creek, WI plant. You will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products to support quality control, process control, and product development.

You will work under the Quality Supervisor, joining a team that values accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement. The position offers comprehensive benefits and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of chemistry or lab testing experience.
• Basic math and scientific principles knowledge.
• Experience with product inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate lab equipment such as viscometers, pH meters, and other instruments.
• Test samples to verify conformity to specifications.
• Record test results and maintain quality records.
• Evaluate production batch retentions in response to quality complaints.
• Perform routine quality checks on finished products.
• Occasional quality audits of lab and production work instructions.
