Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) in South Chesterfield, VA to lead hourly production teams, ensure safety, and meet production targets with quality standards.

You will develop standard work, drive continuous improvement, manage inventory, and collaborate with supply chain, quality, and shipping to maintain smooth operations and timely responses to issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in a leadership role in manufacturing.
• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Two years' experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact and work effectively with employees at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to team leaders and frontline hourly production team members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
• Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain production schedule, meeting quality and productivity requirements.
• Maintain good inventory control procedures for all raw material required in the department.
• Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to meet targets safely and on time.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and cycle time.
• Be knowledgeable of company policies and engage HR/Safety when required.
