Job description

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the production floor and ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The ideal candidate will lead a team of production workers, coordinate schedules, monitor workflow, and maintain quality standards in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 1:00pm-5:30am and 3rd Shift Monday- Friday 9:00pm-5:30am

Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000/yr DOE

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment of progressive experience in OTC pharmaceutical production, people management and supervisory skills is a must
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • FDA – GMP and GDP knowledge
  • Proven ability to effectively lead while constantly raising the bark for quality and productivity
  • Computer skills utilizing MS office, word, and Excel
  • Able to plan production start in completion times
  • University degree or college diploma, or equivalent work experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a supervisor
  • Strong familiarity with manufacturing/filling processes and equipment
  • Strong familiarity with cGMPs And OSHA standards
  • Familiarity with MS office software tools, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, peers, and other departments
  • Strong written in oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides support by directing and coaching, supervisors and team leads to achieve division of objectives and production goals
  • Plan flow of materials through departments. Communicate properly and adequately to all personnel levels to ensure the production deadlines are met
  • Monitors keep performance indicators
  • Collaborates with QA personnel, as required, to resolve issues related to the quality of filling/Production components and/or finish goods
  • identifies and facilitates continuous improvement activities
  • Collaborates with Planning personnel, as required, to resolve scheduling issues related to component availability and/or line productivity
  • Supervises personnel resources (e.g. temporary labor) to ensure that each line achieves its daily production goals.
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Enforces company policies without creating negative reactions from supervisors, team leaders, operators and peers.
  • Responds quickly to all oral and written communication such accident reports, deviation reports. vacation and sick request, and absence reports
  • Share ideas and techniques with supervisors, team leads an immediate manager
  • Cooperate and be open-minded by working with others such, QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and compounding personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within the Management team
  • Gives subordinates (supervisors and team leader) the authority needed to effectively carry out delegated responsibilities and build strong working relationships with the rest of associates
  • Support and enforces all general safety, food safety and pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
  • Able to back up Shift Lead/Shift supervisor one absent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending
  • Ability to walk/stand for up to 10 hours
  • Strong hand-eye coordination when handling products
  • Capable of frequently lifting and carrying items weighing 25–45 lbs in a production environment
  • Must adhere to proper PPE requirements in a manufacturing setting
