Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a welding operator for our Walker, MI plant on a 3rd shift (Sun-Thu) 10:30PM–6:30AM. You will operate resistance spot welders and power presses to form metal assemblies, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality standards.

You must read, write, and speak English and be able to stand for long periods. You will also perform housekeeping, assist in maintaining safety and quality policies, and complete required paperwork to track workflow.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to stand for 8-10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate resistance spot welders and/or power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, or crimp metal stock.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications and report non-conformances.
• Keep work area and machines clean and organized.
• Pack parts in specified relationships and complete required paperwork.
• Follow Quality Policy and participate in safety and quality programs.
