Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Operator in Walker, MI. You will set up and operate welders and presses, inspect parts, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. The role requires standing 8–10 hours, following work instructions, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for safety and instruction.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates resistance spot welders and power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp stock.
• Inspects parts for conformance to specifications and discusses non-conformances with a team leader or quality inspector.
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Keeps machines and work area clean; packs parts in proper relation to each other.
• Completes necessary paperwork and logs workflow and quality data.
• Observes safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality procedures; participates in training as needed.
