Job summary

Johnsonville, LLC. is seeking a seasoned shift technician supervisor at its Wisconsin production facility to oversee sleeving, stuffing, packaging lines, and palletizing processes while ensuring safety and compliance with SQF, GMP, and USDA requirements.

The role emphasizes coordinating staffing, maintaining equipment performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced, USDA-regulated environment. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in USDA-regulated environment preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of operator experience in the company preferred.
• Knowledge of QX extrusion system and cook-in-package process preferred.
• Strong math and measurement abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facilitator with staffing needs weekly based on the production schedule.
• Enter new temporary workers in hours tracking database and instruct workers in its use.
• Greet temporary workers and assign the job at shift start.
• Assist with pre-shift communication meetings.
• Facilitate production activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Verify correct equipment setup per established parameters.
• Assist with operation and daily maintenance of equipment and adjust machines as needed.
• Provide backup to production shift personnel.
• Confer with Maintenance, Operators and partners to resolve equipment problems.
• Ensure supplies meet production schedule and track usage.
• Monitor product quality and record hourly performance results.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems in packaging and boxing areas.
• Communicate information across departments (Stuffing Room, QA, Expediting).
• Keep management informed on equipment performance, quality, safety concerns.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and sanitation activities on shift.
• Report major production issues promptly.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
