Job summary

IHA in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist for night shifts. The role involves specimen collection and processing across hospital and off-site locations. Training for first shift is available for up to eight weeks. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to work four-hour shifts M-F and every third weekend.

Six months of phlebotomy experience is preferred, with ASCP certification obtainable within one year. Night shifts require flexibility and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Six months phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• If interested in 1st shift, must be able to work as early as 4 am.
• Most positions are four hour shifts; must be willing to work four hour shifts M-F and every third weekend.
• Availability to train 1st shift M-F, full time hours for up to 8 weeks.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain within one year of hire) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a single assigned work area.
• Provide specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the hospital, outpatient labs, and off-site locations.
• Handle high-volume workload with 50% computer utilization to meet targets.
• Provide clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.

What The Phlebotomist Will Need

• Provides specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draws stations, and mental health and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics.
• High volume work, 50% of duties involve computer utilization with targets to meet.
• Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.
