Job summary

MELDS LLC seeks a hardworking densifier operator to feed fiber material and run the densifier unit in a fast-paced factory in Fletcher, NC. This role requires long periods of standing, bending, and repetitive motion to sustain production.

You will work with the production team to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency, document scrap counts, prep products, and communicate with shifts and supervisors to address issues.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform repetitive work in a fast-paced environment, with long periods of standing.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Operate the densifier unit safety and efficiently while feeding fiber material.
• Maintain production efficiency to the approved standard.
• Inspect items and sort by visual inspection for defects.
• Prep product via deburring and cleaning to meet standards.
• Inspect and pack product according to the standard.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and organized.
• Provide accurate production reporting and scrap counts at shift end.
• Communicate with previous shift to receive important information and with team leaders/supervisors to address issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the role

This position is responsible for operating the densifier unit by continuously feeding fiber material into the machine for extended periods, involving frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive motion.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Operate the densifier unit safely and efficiently and feed fiber material into the designated machine opening.
• Maintain efficiency to the approved standard.
• Inspect items and sort by means of visual inspections to insure they are defect free.
• Prep product via deburring and cleaning to meet product standard.
• Inspect and pack product in accordance with the standard.
• Maintain work area and equipment by cleaning, organizing and keeping it in orderly condition.
• Provide accurate production reporting and scrap counts at the end of the shift.
• Communicate with previous shift to receive important job information.
• Communicate with Team Leaders and supervisors when there are issues.
• Complete other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate required.
• Must have the ability to perform repetitive work in a fast-paced work environment, which includes long periods of standing.
• Must be able to perform basic math skills.
• Attention to detail is imperative.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to lift heavy boxes on a regular basis.
• Able to work in a team environment.

Schedule

• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM.
• Schedule may vary based on production needs.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
